Our Mom Our Hero
Donation protected
It was October 2015 when our parents retired after 30 plus years of work. They were so happy to be home in Florida as they traveled for work. Our dad worked two full time jobs. He was in the national guard and a nuclear engineer. Our mom was a hairdresser and a full time mom. They always taught us to work hard at whatever we did. In December 2015 while making Christmas cookies, my mom had a sudden massive seizure. When we got to the ER after many tests, we found out mom had a glioblastoma. What is a glioblastoma you ask? It is the most deadly type of malignant brain tumor. There is no cure for this disease and only limited treatment. After fighting for almost two years, our strong beautiful mother is tired. This past weekend as a family we made the choice to call hospice. Mom has a hard time swallowing and taking her medicine now so we knew it was time. My dad as retired military has great insurance thankfully but as we all know it doesn't cover everything. Anything you can do to help my dad at this time would be such a blessing. While moms days here on Earth are numbered, we will never forget the life she gave to us and the happiness she has brought to everyone she has met in her life.
