For those who remember the joys of riding swings and the delight and laughter it brought, this project is for you.
In 2014, I volunteered in Afghanistan to help a local community open its first real school. I promised the kids we would make a playground at the school where they could run and play in safety.
Today, I have the opportunity to do this through a partnership with Playground Builders , a registered non-profit charity that makes these necessary safe play spaces for children in war-torn areas. This project will be Playground Builder's 204th playground! :)
Having grown up in Afghanistan during the war, I know first-hand what its like to not have any safe spaces to play in. For children devastated by the realties of war, a simple playground provides a sense of safety and comfort through the power of play-based learning. It also encourages the development of positive social and communication skills, as well as peaceful conflict-resolution.
100% of your tax-deductible* gift will go directly towards 'building hope and peace through the gift of play'. We have a great space, the experience of Playground Builders and the opportunity to make this simple dream come true. I am personally asking for your help to give these beautiful kids a safe place to play and create wonderful childhood memories.

There is no administration fee and 100% of all money raised will be donated towards building this playground.
