Outdoor all weather pitch
Donation protected
Letterfrack National School is a small rural school in Connemara, County Galway, Ireland. The school is desperately lacking in sports facilities, with no indoor space for sports the children have to go outside for physical education. We have a good sized grass pitch but due to our very inclement weather in Connemara, this pitch becomes very water logged and the children often miss out on essential daily exercise. We also have a small and very old tarmac area but due to lack of sufficient funding for outdoor works from Government, this tarmac is now crumbling and can be very dangerous for the children to run on. The Parents Association are planning a number of events throughout the year to raise funds to enable the school to invest in a small all-weather area so that the children can exercise outdoors safely whatever the weather. Work has begun and the foundation has been laid, we are seeking funding to complete the job to purchase the all-weather surface required and a mesh fence. Your support in helping us achieve our goal is greatly appreciated.
