Outdoor Performance Stage

As we, Dancing Willow Farm, strive to find our place to support our community through exploration of our own passions and through community conversations, utilizing our location to support local artists continues to rise to the top of the list. After a wonderfully successful concert last fall, we have talked with bands, dancers, DJ's, and theatre groups about the need for an outdoor venue to support independent artists. COVID-19 has severely impacted our artists and their ability to perform, and it is our hope to provide a place that can connect them with all of you.
After months of conversations, a stage has been identified as a necessary element to not only maximize the performances, but also to provide a safe place that mitigates chances for injury. Our goal is to have the stage built by the middle of summer to support performances for the remainder of the year and beyond.
Unfortunately with construction materials being almost triple normal pricing, this budget falls outside of our current capacity. So why now then? Why not wait? Well, with most artists not being able to perform for over 14 months, we feel a sense of urgency to help them get back on their feet as we slowly climb out of the current pandemic. Our hope is to hit the ground running once it is deemed safe and people have the capacity to attend.
To help keep costs low, we will be building the stage ourselves. For all metal work, we will be leveraging our welding classes to bring the structure to life. This hands on learning will help our students see first hand what metal fabrication can look like in the real world.
The picture shown is from our concert last fall. The stage will be built in front of the barn, and the initial size will be be dictated by the amount of funds we are able to raise. Our plans will allow for future expansion should there be a need.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. We greatly appreciate you even taking the time to read about our project and welcome any contributions you can offer. We fully appreciate that everyone in traveling through these times differently, and we would never pressure anyone to give. If this project strikes a cord with you and you find the capacity to give, we are grateful for your support and for the long lasting impact we hope this stage will have. Regardless of giving, our hope is that all are safe and healthy and we hope to see you at a concert sometime this fall. Seeing all of your faces as we dance and celebrate the arts will be a welcomed event.
