Outdoor Pool Improvements for 2022 and beyond
The 2021 season has been a huge success with locals and holiday makers alike and to keep our community pool looking as good as it did this year requires a very dedicated team of volunteers who work behind the scenes sometimes very late into the night!
To help these volunteers improve the water quality and maintain it for the full season next year we really need to replace the filters and pump system which has been in place for 35 years. We have had to repair various parts over the years, but we suffered breakdowns this year which could potentially be complete failures at any time if we don't act soon.
I know the target seems very high and I don't expect to achieve this figure quickly, but we would really appreciate anyone who enjoyed their swims at the pool this year to help us if they can. Anything helps, no matter how small.
We have managed to extend the lease for a further 20 years so any work we can do over the winter this year and later on will mean the pool will be there for our children to enjoy into adulthood as many of us enjoyed using the pool as kids.
There are also plans to use the profit we made this year (small but not insignificant) to make the site look better for 2022. So anything we can raise will go towards a very long list of jobs we need to do as well as requests from customers/staff to improve things to make the pool more enjoyable.
We hope you will be able to support us by donating as much/little as you are able to.
Thank you for reading and we look forward to welcoming you all back in April (hopefully) 2022, extending the season if possible.
