Hi, my name is Dagliê Santos. I used to work as a model; I worked a lot in China, The Philippines, and Turkey and 2022, I came to NY to restart after the pandemic, which has left me claustrophobic and depressed as a consequence of the strict lockdown I have been through in the Philippines.
I have felt pain in the left side of my abdomen since 2017, but I always was told by doctors and other women that it was ``normal``.
- But last year (2021), I started to have an extremely irregular period. Once I was spotting for 20 days nonstop.
- Then finally, my boyfriend convinced me to check it, and I discovered a teratoma (A teratoma is a tumor made up of several different types of tissue, such as hair, muscle, teeth, or bone)
- I was hell scared and started to seek treatment. I have a blood phobia, and the situation was hell.
- And everything was getting worst and worst. My ob-gyn suspected of cancer and sent me to an oncologist.
- The oncologist sent me to a surgeon who accepted my insurance, and we arranged it all for the surgery on November 7
- After this terrible year, I was full of hope that my pain would end on November 7th. But arriving at the hospital, I was told that Cigna didn't send the authorization code, and my surgery wouldn't happen.
- At this point, I spent the money I had saved for my Work Visa on doctors, and I was getting hopeless. I don't want to go back to Brazil cause health care there would take ages to get the surgery done.
- So I am asking for help with the first deposit for my surgery and work visa.
- Why? Cause I need only the first deposit to get it done. Also, with my work visa, I can make more money here and will be able to pay my debt with the hospital (of course, for some years, but I will make it)
