OvenBird and Hot&Hot Employee Relief Fund
Donation protected
On March 16th we closed our doors at The Hot and Hot Fish Club and OvenBird Restaurant indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are no longer able to provide to-go and curbside delivery and our team has suffered tremendously through this time of prolonged uncertainty.
We are truly heartbroken for our community, friends, fellow businesses and neighbors. Overall, we are deeply concerned for our team, their 75 families and our close network of purveyors who rely on us. In nearly 25 years of business, we have never seen or anticipated anything quite like this, which has threatened the health and livelihood of our beloved Birmingham, AL community.
Asking for help is no easy task – we prefer to be the ones providing comfort to our patrons – especially in times of crisis. Now we are calling on our community to help us provide relief to our employees at both restaurants so we can continue to be the place where memories are made.
All donations made will be used towards our employees’ health insurance coverage and keep the coverage from ending for the unforeseeable future. The money raised also goes directly to employees who are no longer able to work since our dining rooms have closed. Due to the Shelter in Place Law, implemented by Governor Kay Ivey, we deemed the temporary closing and ending of to-go and curb-side pick up a necessity.
We appreciate every donation and any amount helps! We look forward to opening our doors and welcoming you back soon!
Thank you for your generosity and support.
