September 9, 2018 is a big day with exciting news! Overflow City Church will officially be launching in the heart of Downtown, Silver Spring, MD.
Here's why we are planting Overflow City Church: The greater Washington DC area has a population of six million people. Although it's ranked as the most educated and affluent city in the nation, DC currently has the highest drug addiction rates. There are staggering numbers in homelessness and poverty, along with the highest divorce rates from the rest of the states.
This indicates to us that there is something deeply broken in our nation's capital that money, prestige or education can't fix. There are areas of need in this city that can only be met with the message of the Gospel.
Here's how we want to be part of the solution: At Overflow City Church our vision is to create an environment where people can encounter the presence of God; discover their God given purpose; and make a difference in their homes and overall community. Firstly, we want individuals to be encountered by, and overflowing with the life giving message of the Gospel. Secondly, we will be creating partnerships with different organizations in the city to help with homelessness, poverty and drug addiction issues. We will also be actively engaged in community outreach programs to reach further needs of our city.
Here's how you can help: A vision to reach six million people cannot be done alone. Your part in this vision and your support is not only vital but it means so much to us! We currently need $65,000 to help meet our budget goal. We need to meet this budget by August 15th.
These funds raised will help in several major areas. Firstly, it will be used to help set up outreach programs and partnerships with different organizations in the city that can best equip Overflow City Church to meet the needs of the city.
Secondly, it will be used to secure equipment that is needed to create a worship environment that is both inviting and engaging. Lastly, we have partnered with an amazing organization called CMN that will match our raised funds! We are asking that you please consider investing generously with the knowledge that your contribution will be doubled.
By financially contributing to this vision, you now become part of the solution. You are partnering with Overflow City Church to help reach many lives in the Washington DC area that are in need of a life transformation.
