Overflowing Grace for the Children of Escalante

I have been friends with Dr. Nan for over 40 years. Dr. Nan became a Christian through the outreach of Campus Crusade in her home country Malaysia. She has been involved in a variety of ministries throughout her lifetime. In June 2017 she accepted a call to Christian Ministry in the city of Escalante on the island of Negros Occidental in the southern Philippines. She worked with local church pastors and community leaders to establish a program called Overflowing Grace for the Children of Escalante to help meet the needs of children who lacked basic necessities. Just imagine having to send your child to school without breakfast! Sadly, this often happens in the schools and communities in the Escalante area. The Overflowing Grace program visits different schools each week in the area around the city of Escalante, offering nutritious meals, items of clothing, and educational supplies and materials with messages of hope and encouragement. Children are thrilled with the warm meal and the gift items. Parents are very grateful for these visits and often attend when they are able. To date, more than 2500 children and adults have been blessed. Church and community leaders are able to provide volunteers to assist with the program but are not able to financially support the program.
While Dr. Nan has been able to support the program for the past year from her personal savings, they have now been depleted. She needs help to continue this life-changing program, which provides the necessities for the children to grow mentally, physically, and spiritually. The food and materials for each visit cost around US $150-$200 for 100 -150 children. Overflowing Grace hopes to be able to continue visiting a different school each week. Since Dr. Nan's savings have been depleted, she needs funds for her travel expenses to return to the Philippines after a medical visit to Malaysia, as well as a visa to allow her to remain in the Philippines and for living expenses. These expenses average $1000 - $1500 US per month. Without financial help, the program will not be able to continue. Support in any amount would help reach the goal of $15,000, ensuring that the feeding program will continue for another year. A gift of any amount would be greatly appreciated!
