Overseas Placement in Iloilo, Philippines
Donation protected
Hey Everyone!
I need your help…
I am currently in my second year of training as a student midwife. As part of our course, we have the opportunity to do an overseas placement during the summer. In August I will be travelling to Iloilo in the Philippines, to volunteer at a local maternity hospital and the surrounding villages. I will be caring for women and families during their life-changing moment, welcoming their baby into the world – sometimes twice, if they’re twins!
This experience means so much to me. I can immerse myself in a different culture and provide care on the other side of the world, pushing me out of my comfort zone. I believe this trip will help me gain a new perspective on maternity care and provide me with a unique skill-set, to bring back to my practice in the UK.
The trip is self-funded, so I’ll be raising all the money I need to go myself. Being a student this is going to be challenging, so I’ve set up this page to ask if anyone is able to donate or help in any way. I know things are tough for most people right now, so any donations would be incredible. Equally, if anyone has any tips or advice about elective placements; the Philippines; or just tips in general - they would be wholeheartedly appreciated too!
Thanks,
