Owen Acle's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Dear friends,
We come to you with an unprecedented call to action for one of our own Temple Judea Margaux School teachers. Jessica Acle, a seasoned Margaux Early Childhood School teacher with almost 10 years of tenure, has been facing a heartbreaking personal challenge. She and her husband, Eugene, are parents to two young children; Owen, aged 2, and Arlo, nine months old. Both boys were born with a rare and potentially life-threatening genetic disorder called Mucopolysaccharidosis type VI (MPS VI). There is no cure for MPS VI, only temporary treatments and therapies. The Acle family has been grappling with the excruciating fact that Owen is advanced in his condition and his prognosis is challenging, at best. Last week, Owen suffered a cranial hemorrhage and seizure at school. He was rushed by ambulance to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital where he required emergency surgery to stop the bleeding in his brain and was placed in a medical coma so that doctors could drain the accumulated fluid. Owen is showing signs of improvement, however, he has a long road to recovery ahead.
The Margaux School Parents Association @ Temple Judea has never created a Go Fund Me Page, but this situation stands alone in its urgency and its unfathomable reality. All donations made to this Go Fund Me campaign will go towards covering existing and future medical bills for the Acle family. The events of the last week are estimated to cost hundreds of thousands, if not over a million dollars. While the family has insurance, they will likely incur tremendous out of pocket expenses that would be unmanageable for most families. Please donate what you can and please share this campaign with others who may be able to contribute as well. Thank you for your support.
