Oxford High School Prom 2022

 

Hello! I’m Angela Butorac, Owner of Butorac Events, a special events planning and decorating firm. I’ve been working with Oxford High School for many years to coordinate, decorate, and design beautiful proms for their students to enjoy.

 

The students and community of Oxford, Michigan had their lives changed forever on November 30th, 2021, when a school shooting left four students dead and others wounded at Oxford High School.

This year it’s NOT about doing what I always do it’s about doing so much MORE.

The proms that Oxford High School and I put on for their students are always beautiful and this year I’m planning to make it absolutely magical with lots of extra special touches and surprises for them! 

 

After the school shooting, I immediately began thinking, what can I do? I knew I would not be charging them this year and wanted to donate my time and efforts to give them the most spectacular prom I possibly could. People have been asking me how they can help, so I setup this account for individuals and businesses who want to help me give these kids a worry free magical evening.

Together, we can make this a memorable event for these students and this community.

 

When I met with the kids at Oxford a few weeks back I asked them how they wanted their prom to feel this year. They said they want to walk in and feel happiness,  and they want it to be magical.  That is what I want to give them.

 

A lot of amazing vendors are trying to donate wherever they can and are discounting services. This is a junior and senior class prom. We now have over 700 guests attending and with that size of an event there are costs. The school of course has a budget for their prom but what I’m trying to do is go above and beyond that to not cut anything on the student’s wish list but to actually truly create something absolutely spectacular and breathtaking at every turn. I am pulling out all the stops to make this their most amazing prom ever! The theme is enchanted forest. We will have a venue with a sit down dinner,  music, photo booths, sweets tables, Chiavari chairs and beautiful linens and table rentals , coffee carts, themed centerpieces and favors for all!

The prom is May 6th, 2022 and I would like to receive all donations before then to pay vendors on time.

 

The school is aware of my efforts and knows that all funds raised will go directly to paying all prom costs to give these kids a carefree, beautiful, and over the top event.  Any funds raised in excess of prom costs will be given to Oxford High School to help ease the financial burdens of students attending future events such as the school’s spring carnival, talent shows, the school’s mental break days, and special treats for students throughout the school year.

If I can fundraise enough to cover costs, the students will be reimbursed for the prom tickets they purchased.
