Oxford iGEM Team 2016 - Cure for Cu
Donation protected
Hello!,
We are the Oxford iGEM Team 2016. We are using synthetic biology to tackle a rare genetic disorder called Wilson's disease. We are designing a bacterium that will absorb copper in the gut and prevent its accumulation in the liver, one of the major problems with Wilson's. The idea is to provide a probiotic pill of the bacterium to patients as a way of regulating copper intake in the body.
We are participating in the iGEM competition (international Genetically Engineered Machine) in Boston this October where we will present our ideas to other teams and world experts. Any money collected will be going to funding our expenses (lab equipment, accommodation, etc)
You can learn about our project by following us on twitter (https://twitter.com/OxfordiGEM) or by reading about our progress in our blog (https://oxfordigem2016.wordpress.com/)
All of our sponsors will be featured in our iGEM website (2016.igem.org/Team:Oxford, under construction at the moment).
Any sponsor that pledges more than £20 will be featured in our presentation in the Giant Jamboree in Boston.
If any company is interested in sponsoring us, please contact us at [email redacted].ac.uk to discuss how we could reward your generosity.
We would like to thank all of our
sponsors in advance.
Thank you,
Oxford iGEM team 2016
