Janet Weaver: A Life Worth Living

Dear Friends & Family,
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Many of you already know Janet and if so, you know the love and goodness that she brings into this world. Maybe you know her as your daughter’s baton coach; maybe you know her from her work in the salon world; maybe you are blessed enough to call her family or lucky enough to call her a friend. No matter how you know her, there is no doubt that she has touched your life in a positive way. If you don’t know Janet, then you probably know someone like her – someone who is a giver and a do-er, someone who goes out of their way to help others. Those people, like Janet, are usually the ones who have trouble asking for help when they need it themselves.
Last May, four months before her much-anticipated wedding, Janet went to the ER with ongoing back pain that she just couldn’t stand anymore. Soon after, she was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer of unknown primary origin. The cancer was in her liver and bowel and she began undergoing intense chemotherapy treatments. At the time that Janet was to be starting her new life, she found herself facing this battle alone. But Janet is a fighter and her spirit and hope for the future remained high. She has persevered through 11 rounds of two different types of chemo and is now looking into trials at Johns Hopkins.
Janet needs help now. The effects of the chemotherapy and the progressing cancer have made it difficult for her to work. The mortgage, car payment, utilities, and medical bills fall only on her shoulders. This is a time when Janet should be focusing on living; not whether she is able to make ends meet each month. Anything that you can contribute to allow Janet to focus on her life, to show her how loved and appreciated she is, would mean more to her than words can express. Thank you so much.
