Oxygen concentrator for Tambu

Dear Family and Friends,
We are raising funds for the purchase of a portable oxygen concentrator for Tambudzai Kamukosi aka Tambu, aka TK.
Tambu travelled from Canada to Zimbabwe in early December so that she could attend to the needs of her elderly parents. She unfortunately tested positive for Covid-19 at the end of December 2020. Due to an underlying condition (asthma) her health deteriorated to the extent that she had to be airlifted to Nairobi, Kenya for better medical treatment. She is currently at Aga Khan University Hospital where she is receiving medical attention and her health is improving.
The damage caused to her lungs means that Tambu will need a portable oxygen concentrator to use at home as part of her rehabilitation process. Supplemental oxygen therapy can be a lifesaver for someone dealing with a condition where lung function is impaired. Oxygen therapy is a highly effective way to increase the amount of oxygen in the body to healthy, normal levels.
Even in her illness, Tambu continues to think of others. Having experienced first hand some of the challenges of the Zimbabwean health system, Tambu would like to raise additional funds to purchase at least one extra oxygen concentrator that she would like to donate to a lovely but under-resourced clinic in her parent’s neighbourhood.
An oxygen concentrator costs between USD1,500 and USD1,800 in South Africa and in Zimbabwe. And so for two oxygen concentrators we would need to raise at least USD3,600.
Any additional monies raised would be donated to the clinic mentioned above, either in the form of another oxygen concentrator or for any other pressing needs.
Please help us to make this a positive year for Tambu who has been through so much during these past couple of weeks. Any amount donated will be greatly appreciated.
