Oxygen For India
Donation protected
India is facing a catastrophic second wave of Covid-19. This is a tragedy like no other; an acute shortage of hospital beds with assisted breathing equipment means that patients who could have been treated are instead suffocating to death.
Oxygen For India is an initiative started by friends of India across the globe, raising funds to support NGOs, hospitals, and those on the ground that need our help the most. 100% of the funds (sans GoFundMe platform costs) will go towards the purchase, logistics, and deployment of oxygen concentrators which are then donated to the hospitals/nursing homes mentioned below across India.
We have one simple aim - to address the massive need across fragmented communities and organizations. We are buying the oxygen concentrators in the US and delivering it to those who cannot get any supply because of lack of infrastructure, support, or availability.
Time to delivery is critical.
Use of Funds:
Our goal is to raise enough money for at least 100 oxygen concentrators. We have partnered with
Project Smile, Bangalore www.projectsmiletrust.com
Chiranjiva, Delhi www.chiranjivmf.org
Mission Hospital Damoh, Madhya Pradesh
Fortune Marketing Logistics and distribution
Our amazing, hands-on team on the ground in India will be in charge of on-ground deployment and ensuring that the product directly reaches the organizations. They share our guiding principle of helping those most in need irrespective of economic or social strata or location. Any charity/govt. hospital/community health center and Covid facility is free to contact Oxygen For India to access a supply of oxygen concentrators.
We are grateful for your time and donation on behalf of the medical community and families who desperately need assistance. This wave in India is far more infectious and lethal and the healthcare system has collapsed showing the deficiencies of our system. We are trying to do our small part, using our networks to bring a few lifesaving oxygen concentrators to those where the need is most urgent – knowing truly well that each life we save is a precious one.
What is an oxygen concentrator?
An oxygen concentrator is a medical device that concentrates oxygen from ambient air. Atmospheric air has about 78 per cent nitrogen and 21 per cent oxygen, with other gases making up the remaining 1 per cent. The oxygen concentrator takes in this air, filters it through a sieve, releases the nitrogen back into the air, and the remaining oxygen is compressed and then dispensed through a cannula with a 90-95% purity level. A pressure valve in concentrators helps regulate supply, ranging from 1-10 litres per minute.
