Jeff Isom's Home destroyed in Fire.

My name is Brooklynn Isom, and I am Jeff Isom’s daughter. My family and I are devastated and heartbroken by the recent event on the morning of December 5th, 2022. My dad’s home was destroyed in a fire caused by what we believe to be electrical issues. Heavy fire damage was to the entire interior of his home, leaving only the wood frame. He lost all his clothes, shoes, furniture, and valuables in the fire. Thankfully, he and his 12-year-old dog were able to escape the home as the back room burst into flames and smoke filled the house. He and his dog lived in their home for nearly 13 years. My dad also grew up in this house, as his late father Rufus Isom used to own the home, so it has been in the family for many decades.

My dad is a high school custodian at Morristown East High School and walks to work every day. His home was right across the street from his job at East High, and because he does not own a car, this was the perfect set up for his day-to-day life. My dad and his dog are currently staying at my mom’s house, about a 15-minute drive from his work, and his friend from work will be driving him to and from work every day until we have a more permanent solution.

Unfortunately, he did not have insurance on the house. We are creating this GoFundMe to help my dad get back on his feet, and we greatly appreciate any donation amount.

You never think your family will be going through something like this; truly, any amount helps. The donations will go toward home demolition, a down payment on a new home, new furniture, potentially a car, a new wardrobe, and other living costs. His life has changed dramatically, as we all thought he would live in his family home for the rest of his life, but we are hopeful that there is a silver lining.
