Justice for Conleigh

Donation protected

I’m writing on behalf of Glen and Kristin Sullivan, asking for your help in memory of their daughter, Conleigh Rose. At a large Boston area hospital in August of 2009, Conleigh passed away shortly after she was born; a terrible tragedy that could have been avoided if not for a preventable medical error and if the hospital had followed proper procedure. The setback to the Sullivan family, who already had two older children was immense, both emotionally and financially. Both Glen and Kristin were laid off from their jobs shortly afterwards, adding further to the financial stress and strain that came with losing their daughter. They have been trying to catch up ever since.

Despite the financial setbacks, the Sullivans have been actively pursuing a medical malpractice suit, hoping that the hospital and the doctors will be held accountable for their mistakes and to ensure that something so preventable and the terrible grief they have endured doesn’t happen to other families in the future. In order to continue on with the trial, they have had to come up with over $15,000. Given their hardships, this amount of money has not been easy to come up with.

After Conleigh passed away, the Sullivans did not have the financial means to give her the burial that she deserved. Conleigh is currently in a temporary resting space, next to her grandfather, with no headstone, no marker to remember her by, and the inevitability of having to be exhumed. The Sullivans, more than anything, want to see their daughter put to rest in a proper burial. As her life was so brief, they want to make sure she is remembered and kept near them for all eternity.

Glen and Kristin wish they had the means to be able to pay back anyone and everyone who is able to help them with their cause, and laying Conleigh to rest. Knowing this is not a likelihood, they want to pay it forward by starting an organization in Conleigh's name in the future; one that helps families who have lost loved ones to preventable medical errors fight against the hospitals and hold them accountable. Glen and Kristin have been fighting against a goliath of a hospital that has seemingly bottomless means to drag out the lawsuit as long as needed. This is one of the reasons that many people who have valid complaints do not pursue any course of action against hospitals. It is not a fair fight.

The Sullivan family wants no family to suffer as they have for the last six years. Let’s all come together to help the Sullivans fight for Conleigh and assist them in laying her to rest. Together, we can help them be the voice for those who have gone unheard and for all the children that have died unnecessarily. The initial fees raised through our Go Fund Me page will go towards Conleigh’s burial and legal fees. Additional funds raised will enable the Sullivans to fund their organization to help others in need. We thank you in advance for supporting the Sullivans as they seek justice for Conleigh and serve as a voice for other families in their situation.
