Help Save Our Bees
Hello, my name is Richard Sutton. I am asking for help. I am a member of a beekeeping family that has been operating for 4 generations. My family have been affected not only by the ongoing drought conditions but over the past 12 months have been directly affected for the 3rd time by the devastating bush fires. Our hives have to be moved around Australia to follow the flowering trees for nectar and pollen supplies. The Eden fires in recent days have totalled our losses to approximately 600 hives. The Tingha plateau fires were the first to affect us when our family farm was burnt out in February last year. The Port Macquarie fires were next where we lost almost 200 hives and now the Eden fires. My parents have instilled a strong work ethic in all of us and have always said that if you don't earn it you dont deserve it, but now they need help. 6 families that relied on them for income are now out of a job and this just breaks their heart. What hives are left are now having to be moved and this costs alot of money on top of that to rebuild what they have lost is going to take time and money as well. So I am asking for help on their behalf. We know that things are tough for everyone but if you can spare a little every little bit helps. My parents, I know will be humbled and extremely grateful for any help so for those who donate thank you in advance from the bottom of our hearts. All the funds raised will be used to buy and relocate bees to areas that will not be affected by fires and to try and recover some more hives. The funds will go to my parents Jodie and David.
thank you in advance!
