Help Melissa & her Family

Melissa began feeling pain in her breast last Fall and sought medical attention. During this time she began losing weight and experiencing unusual symptoms. Because Melissa did not have medical insurance the diagnosis process took months longer than it should have. Finally, in January 2023, she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Her tumor was fast-growing so an aggressive chemo treatment plan began. Melissa continued to go to work 12 hour shifts not only to stay afloat financially, but to keep her mind off of the worry and fear. After round 2 it became physically impossible for Melissa to maintain working 12 hour shifts 4-5 days a week, as the side effects of treatment have left her very ill. Jason and Mason (16) are doing their best to care for her while working.

This GoFundMe campaign was started to provide a way for family and friends to help Melissa secure the best level of care as she fights and to cover basic living expenses. In addition to medical costs, the family has been struggling to cover their basic monthly expenses on one income. These funds will help Melissa’s family make ends meet and to eliminate some of additional stress they’re suffering with beyond just surviving this health crisis. Melissa will be on chemo the rest of this year, undergoing surgery in late Summer and then beginning a radiation therapy protocol later this year. It’s a long road and her long-term recovery and care are in URGENT NEED!
