Hello everyone, my name is Sam.

I urgently need to appear before a judge. My previous attorney provided no assistance whatsoever, and it was a complete waste of capital. We never attended a Parenting conference or received a mandate on Visitations. Everything has been left to her discretion.

I am a loving father fighting for the chance to be in my son’s life, but legal obstacles are preventing me from seeing him. My ex-partner is making it increasingly difficult despite my continued efforts to do everything right. Even while between careers, I fully pay my child support obligations and work gig jobs like DoorDash to cover my expenses. We never received a mandate when we first appeared in court. A judge never had the authority to order a visitation schedule or review this case. Now, I’m forced to return to court because my last attorney failed to provide any assistance and, in fact, hindered my progress in this process.

I have already spent thousands of dollars trying to secure my parental rights. My last attorney helped get a protective order against me dropped—a legal move my ex attempted to use to prevent me from seeing my son. While I acknowledge that my ex is a wonderful mother, she has also taken a vindictive approach to this situation, seeking control over when and how I see my child.

Recently, I sought legal representation through Oklahoma Attorney Resources, but I’ve been denied assistance without explanation. The legal system has been an uphill battle, and I now realize I need a strong attorney to fight for my rights as a father. Every child deserves both parents, and I refuse to give up on my son.

My Goal

• Establish legal paternity so I can gain my parental rights & get my name on the birth certificate.

• Secure visitation rights and eventually work toward shared custody.

• Ensure my son, Evan, grows up with both parents in his life.

Evan is almost two & 1/2 years old. For the first few months of his life, I was unable to see him for months, around a year. When I finally gained access to him, it was life-changing. Unfortunately, in January, my ex cut off all contact due to a dispute over co-parenting and my request for more time with my son. Since then, I have had no contact, not even through FaceTime.

Beyond my biological son, I also helped raise his older sister, who is not biologically mine but whom I love as my own. They are my world, and this GoFundMe is solely to cover attorney fees so I can be a present father in my son’s life.

Why I Need Your Help

My ex’s family holds significant influence within the legal system—her mother and stepfather were high-ranking figures in the Tulsa County Police Department, and she has worked within the courts herself. With their resources and an exceptional attorney, they have made this an incredibly difficult battle.

I am determined to fight for my son, but I need competent legal representation to level the playing field. Your donations will go directly toward securing an attorney, filing fees, and court costs. Any additional resources beyond my legal expenses will be put into a college fund for my son.

All this money will be going towards lawyer fees for the Best Family attorney possible, because she made it clear that she does not want my mom to ever get to see Evan. She told me that at her daughter‘s soccer game.

I feel foolish for trusting her because she implied that I would have equal coparenting rights and that we wouldn’t have to resort to court if I merely listened to her.

When I requested more time, it always became a problem. I fail to comprehend why you wouldn’t want the father to be involved, especially since I have been actively trying and fulfilling my responsibilities.

Every day I am away from my son, my heart breaks. I just want the chance to be the father he deserves.
