Fighting for Summer

This Go Fund Me account is to help a beautiful, vibrant, life loving 9 year old girl named Summer and her family as she endures the biggest battle of her life, fighting Neuroblastoma Cancer.

In mid September of this year, Summer's mom and grandmother started to notice some subtle, yet concerning changes in Summer and decided to bring her to the doctor to make sure she wasn't coming down with anything. A few days later, after having some testing done, they received devastating news. Summer was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma Cancer.

Summer was immediately admitted to a pediatric oncology unit to begin treatment and further testing. A few days later they discovered the cancer had already begun to spread to several parts of her body including her abdomen, skull, chest, spine, pelvis and shoulder. This news obviously was extremely heart wrenching for her family to hear.

Summer is literally in the fight for her life and it has been one struggle after another for her and her family. Just this past week Summer's family was told that the two rounds of chemo treatment that she has endured have not been working and that the cancer continues to metastasize throughout her whole body. Summer is in lots of pain, has weekly transfusions, battling constant nausea and vomiting, and is being fed by an NG tube as she has difficulty eating.

This week, Summer begin an even stronger chemo and her family is hoping and praying that her little body can tolerate it and that the chemo will fight off and eradicate any cancer in her body. Everything has changed for Summer, her mother and her grandmother. Summer's mom, Yanil, has had to stop working to care full time for Summer and her grandmother, Aida is their only financial provider working two jobs to go towards all of Summer's medical bills, treatments, hospitalizations, and their day to day living expenses.

It feels utterly helpless to watch people you love and care about go through the unimaginable and we want to help them in any small way that we can.
