Let's send Olivia Kuncis to New York City so she can perform at Carnegie Hall!!!!
Olivia Kuncis is my first niece, the daughter of Tim Kuncis and Heather Hill-Kuncis, who is 13 years old and going to be graduating 8th grade from Homer Junior High this spring. She has been in chorus for the past few years, performing in many shows for her school, many where she is the main character, singing on her own. She also performed singing solo songs from Wicked through Allegro music, as well as performing this winter in Suessical the Musical as one of the "bird girls" at Lockport High School through Homer Youth Theater. She is absolutely amazing!
Olivia is a very gifted and talented young lady (what can I say- she is a Kuncis!). Back in the fall, she was nominated by her teacher to attend a camp called Honors Performance Series this June in NYC with other students to perform at Carnegie Hall. This program showcases the most talented student performances from across the United States, Canada, and select International school and allows them to study under masters in New York City, and perform at the celebrated venue, Carnegie Hall. She had to send her "resume" in as well as a CD of her singing, and guess what, she was one of the chosen ones!!!The camp consists of 4 days (June 24-28) of practicing with other selected students, and then the performance on June 27th at Carnegie Hall.
This is a once in a lifetime chance for Olivia. This will truly be life changing for her and my brother Tim's family. We cannot pass up this opportunity. We all know times can be tough for every family, and it will break Tim and Heather's (and my) heart if we cannot afford to send Olivia here. Therefore, this is why I am sending out my request to raise money to send Olivia to NYC. When have you known anyone who was selected to perform at Carnegie Hall??? I am such a proud aunt!
The camp costs $1600.00. Then we also have to think about transportation and lodging- we have to think about getting Heather, Olivia, and Amelia there. I will be travelling with them (the navigator), but of course, Aunt Mary is going to fend for herself. I just don't want this opportunity to pass for my sweet Olivia, so please consider donating to "Send Olivia to NYC". The littlest donation will help.
Also, we will be having a fundraiser/ graduation party on May 23th, 7-11pm at Zachary's Red Barn in Homer Glen. Mark you calendars- invite soon to come.
