I’m Roxanne, and Mykie is my 14 year old nephew that god brought into my life. He was struck the morning of Friday August 18th 2023 by a hit and run driver on 696 Freeway and Grosebeck HWY and tragically, he passed on the scene. Myke was full of laughter and joy, and though he was non verbally autistic…he found the best ways to communicate his love and affection. Awareness for children like Myke doesn’t mean just knowing that the mental disorder exists, but to know how to respond to children in Mykes situation. We are deeply saddened, and heartbroken. Mykes mother and brother need as much support as possible in this time, as their friends and family come together to celebrate the life of an amazing kid and navigate this tragedy. The driver is still at large and anyone who has any information is asked to please come forward. We ask that those who want to extend their condolences please be respectful of his mother and surviving sibling. Please keep us all in your prayers, especially his mother and brother.
