Frasca Hospitality Group Staff Relief Fund

When Governor Polis ordered the closure of all dining rooms in Colorado, we immediately complied with the mandate in order to do our part in combating COVID-19.
This was undoubtedly the hardest thing we have ever done - thinking of protecting others, knowing that there was going to be little financial protection for our staff during this time. In one day, we furloughed 222 people, cleaned out our refrigerators, locked up our restaurants and distributed the perishable product we could not preserve. To say it was a brutal day is an understatement.
Frasca Hospitality Group encompasses Frasca Food and Wine and Pizzeria Locale in Boulder, coupled with Tavernetta and Sunday Vinyl in Denver. Together, we have 222 employees. Including their partners and children, we impact close to 300 lives.
When we decided to close, we also decided to immediately furlough our staff in hopes that they would quickly be able to apply for unemployment benefits. We know this will not be enough as we progress deeper into closure, and payments will take longer than originally anticipated. We are proactively seeking out any federal assistance we can qualify for, and Bobby has been heavily involved with legislators and the Independent Restaurant Coalition to shed light on the importance of the independent restaurant in every community. With the help of e-gift card sales, we were able to allow staff to remain on our health insurance plan until April 30th. However, there is still a shortfall in being able to take care of our team right here, right now.
While we want nothing more than to pay our staff during this time, the reality is if we are aiming to re-open, we are not able to keep our teams on payroll at this time. We remain steadfast in focusing all of our effort and energy on ensuring the re-opening of four restaurants you love on the other side of this pandemic.
The next several weeks pose a critical hurdle for our team. Expenses like rent, groceries, bills and medical care will be met with an undetermined income source. This is where we humbly ask the greater community to join us in supporting our team.
We have a commitment from an incredibly generous guest to match funds up to $20,000. We will continue this fundraiser as long as our team is in need - until the COVID-19 crisis subsides and we’re able to re-open our businesses.
We’re humbled by the generosity of our community in these times. We are grateful for your consideration in supporting our team. We look forward to the moment we are able to welcome you back into our dining rooms to celebrate moments big and small around our table.
But that's not all!
Below are additional ways to support our teams. We’ve partnered with some of our great friends in the hospitality industry to provide some experiences that we hope you’ll enjoy in your home until we can welcome you back into our dining rooms. More detail can be found on each of our restaurant's websites in the "Ways You Can Support" tab.
