Help needed for stroke victim abandoned in UAE
Donation protected
My name is David and I am fundraising to help my friend Rob Blakeman, pictured above. Please help with this desperate situation.
Within the last few days, I found out that an old friend of mine, Rob Blakeman, has found himself in a terrible situation.
Over the last 30 years Rob has raised thousands of pounds for a variety of charities, this link shows just one such event http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_midlands/3609595.stm?fbclid=IwAR3BdROeRz_yNSXT-DHdUBzMAV6uFZxSOJZnaz6cFD_hHo93-Xhe9_ArFkI.
Now he finds himself being the person in need of help. Twelve years ago, he moved to the United Arab Emirates to build a new life for himself and his wife. Sadly, around 6 months ago he had a stroke and just a few days after this, while still largely confined to bed, he woke up to discover that the person who he had spent the last 20 years with had disappeared, taking with her every last penny that was in the house, including all his bank cards and credit cards.
The stroke had left him partially sighted, confused and with mobility problems and, while he was in this state, his wife proceeded to empty their bank account leaving him penniless.
He is in desperate need of getting medical attention before his health deteriorates even further, which is why it is important to get him back to the UK as soon as possible.
Please help raise funds towards the cost of getting him back. Any donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
NOTE: This situation is becoming more urgent with each passing day. Having spoken with Rob today (Sunday 25th February) he is without food, and the house where he has been living now has no running water because he has no money to pay for anything and he is unable to work. Therefore the money raised here has to be used not only to pay for a flight but also to help him buy some food. That is why it is imperative to raise the money as quickly as possible. Thank you.
