Greetings!
I have been a part of many projects through the years that has brought several new pieces for trombone into exisitance. The purpose of this campaign is to fund an ongoing recording project that will feature four new pieces as well as two exsisting works. The repertorie is as follows.... Paceline - Tyler S. Grant (solo trombone and young band) To be recorded with the University of Alabama Wind Ensemble This piece was commissioned to fill a void in the trombone repertorie for a challenging work for the soloist that could be played with either a high school or advanced middle school band. Requital - Michael Johnson (trombone and piano) To be recorded with pianist Kevin Chance This piece was commissioned during the end of Michael's undergraduate study at the University of Alabama. Each of the four movements are meant to depict his experiece in each of his four years of study. Mega - Nicola Ferro (solo trombone and wind ensemble) Recorded with the University of Alabama Wind Ensemble The Gift of "Little G" - David Wilborn (trombone and piano) to be recorded with pianist Kevin Chance This piece was commissioned to be a tribute to my son - Garrett (or "Little G" as he is known). Being that my favorite Bach Fugue is the Little Fugue in G minor, I felt that this would be a perfect tribute. David has cleverly mixed new material that is based on Bach's theme with some of Bach's original lines to make an enjoyable piece to listen to and perform. Hymn To A Blue Hour - John Mackey (solo trombone and trombone octet) recorded with the University of Alabama Trombone Octet and guest conductor Chris Branagan The Four Immortals - Andrew Batterham (solo alto trombone, 3 solo tubas, 6 trombones, euphonium and percussion) Recorded with guests Jeremy Crawford (University of Alabama), Kevin Sanders (University of Memphis), Andrew Miller (Alabama Symphony), Demondrae Thurman (Indiana University) and members of the University of Alabama Trombone and Percussion Studios Here is what is left to do... -Record Grant, Johnson and Wilborn -Edit all tracks -Master completed project for release -Graphic Design -CD Duplication -Printed Materials and Packaging -Digital Distribution I hope you will consider donating to this project to help get these pieces out into the world by means of this recording! All sessions are schedule to be completed by the end of November, 2017 with a hopeful release by the end of the year. There are a few suggested support categories but any amount would be extremely helpful and greatly appreciated! $15-24 You will receive a digital download as well as recognition in the liner notes and website. $25-49 You will receive an autographed copy of the cd as well as recognition in the liner notes and website. $50 or more You will receive 3 autographed copies of the cd, a digital download, a full color poster of the artwork for the recording as well as recognition in the liner notes and website.
