Cardiac Arrest & ICD Surgery: Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Hello my name is Zoe Sparx, aka Andi. I am 26 years old, a model and entertainer. I have lived with a pacemaker since I was 15 years old. I suffer from a heart condition known as a “bundle branch block”. I am 100% dependent on this device to make my heart beat. It may sound scary but it’s really a beautiful piece of technology.
I am proud to be a cyborg
Unfortunately I have fallen behind financially in my efforts to stay alive. Health care is just too expensive and difficult to deal with. On December 4th I had emergency surgery to replace my pacemaker because the battery was about to die. Even with insurance I couldn’t afford the copayment so it was added to my bill. Now I must take at least two weeks off from work and I’ve drained my savings.
Please consider donating any amount so that I can recover properly instead of stressing myself sick. If you can not donate, please consider sharing on your social media.
I was allowed to keep the old pacemaker !
Day after surgery, feeling surprisingly good!!
UPDATE:
on December 22, due to a side effect of medication, I went into full cardiac arrest. My heart stopped pumping for 7 minutes. A good friend performed CPR to keep me breathing until paramedics arrived. On December 24, My pacemaker was replaced with an ICD (Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator) I got to go home on Christmas day Recovery is brutal, every step has been painful and agonizing. I have been surrounded by the amazing support of my friends and loved ones, unfortunately I’m unable to work for at least the rest of the month of January. Because of this, I have doubled my goal on GoFundMe. My savings has run dry and I’m slipping into debt. Please consider donating so that I may completely recover in peace.
