Pack 47 - Pinewood Derby Track

Donation protected
The pinewood derby is one of the most popular and successful family activities in Cub Scouting. The first pinewood derby was held on May 15, 1953 and has been the source of many childhood memories. The Scout is given a block of wood, four plastic wheels, four nails, and everything else is left to their efforts and imagination. What else could you ask for? If your Chester County Council’s Pack 47…………...A TRACK!

After 15 years of outstanding service, the Chester County Council’s Pack 47 Pinewood Derby track is in need of replacement. The Pack is looking to provide an Aluminum track and timing system that should support future Cubs for many years to come.

Please watch the attached video link (It’s in slow motion). The Cub Scouts really enjoy the event and it’s a major highlight every year! After years of service the track isn’t as smooth as it once was, however the biggest challenge is the timing system. It turns out manufactures stop making replacement parts for electronics when they're as old as a Comador 64.

To the Past, Present, and Future members of Cub Scouting and Pack 47, we are asking for your help to replace the existing track with a system that will be used by our future Scouts over the next 20 years.
