Packanack Lake Tennis Club Lights
Donation protected
Packanack Lake Tennis Club was built in 1926. It is one of the oldest Red Clay Tennis Clubs in NJ. We have been struggling to keep the club running and are in need of upgrading the lighting from a system that was installed over 40 years ago and is failing. Night tennis is an essential part of the club because most members play at night. As of today we have around 10 to 30 candle lights on the tennis courts and they are expensive to operate. Changing over to LED Lights will increase the lighting on the court surface to 64 candle lights per court and save money by being more energy effecient. We are open to all people and offer some of the best tennis in NJ. We have volunteers willing to install the lights and just need enough funds to purchase them. My name is Alan Hughes and I grew up here at Packanack and began working the tennis courts at age 8. Over the years I have had to rebuild the clay courts several times after flooding from hurricanes which washed out the surface. I did all that work for free just to keep the club running and sixty years later I am the teaching pro at the club and still work and maintain the club, organize social events and make sure members have players to play with. Come by and check us out and see what a unique facility this is and help us bring it up to date with new lighting.
Thanks for anything you can do and please pass the word.
