Padme (pet) was surrendered to save her life!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jonni and I'm trying to help someone else who was forced to surrender her ferret to a rescue to save her life. Kayla has CareCredit, but her limit was reached for other procedures done on Padme (the ferret). One was to remove an obstruction, the other was recommended by the vet, but was not life threatening....just a dental. This maxed out her CareCredit limit and as luck would have it, shortly after a real life threatening issue came up, and Kayla was forced to make a decision. As hard as it was for her, she surrendered her to the local ferret rescue (AZ Ferret Rescue) who had her treated and paid the bill. Padme was diagnosed with Hepatitis. Who knew ferrets could get hepatitis?!! Then later that week, her husband fainted and hit his head and had to be admitted to the hospital.
I really want to help Kayla get Padme back home by reimbursing the rescue for the vet bill, because I can see how much she loves her Padme, and I can't imagine having to surrender a pet to save their life. The pain and guilt would be heavy. The rescue already has a hefty vet bill just caring for all of the ferrets that have been surrendered, and the $742 for Padme was a hard hit. Kayla visits Padme every weekend since she was surrendered just before Christmas. She has made two $50 payments to the rescue so far in an effort to reimburse the rescue for the vet bill and get Padme back home.
Kayla and her husband have a lot on their plate right now, financially. They have set up a payment plan with the hospital to pay for her husband's medical bill, and continue to make payments on the CareCredit bill that they used previously for Padme. They have no health insurance either. Both her and her husband work full time jobs and have to share a car at this time. Please donate to help Padme get back home, to her loving "mommy & daddy". As great as rescues are, they can't give all of the animals the individual love and attention that they deserve.
All of the money raised will be going to the rescue. If we exceed our goal, the rest will still go to the rescue to help offset other costs that the rescue incurs for all ferrets.
