Chiapas, al sur de México, es conocido por su diversidad biológica y cultural. Pero también es famosa por la corrupción, la violencia y la impunidad, siendo el estado más pobre y peligroso de México. Es ahí donde el sacerdote católico Padre Marcelo trabaja, poniéndose al servicio de los campesinos, los indígenas, los pobres, los oprimidos, los marginados, escuchándolos y caminando con ellos. Este camino molesta a algunos poderosos, poniendo incluso precio a la cabeza del Padre Marcelo. Sin embargo, él opina, que, por la paz del Pueblo, merece la pena dar la vida.

En Febrero de 2022 estuvimos acompañando al padre Marcelo en su trabajo por Chiapas. La TV austríaca emitió un reportaje de 8 minutos en alemán. Ahora queremos editar una versión de 25 minutos en español para dar a conocer la vida y obra del Padre Marcelo a la comunidad internacional. Para eso buscamos personas y organizaciones solidarias que quieran financiar y divulgar esta historia.

La recaudación de destinará a la postproducción: edición, redacción, diseño de sonido, corrección de color, masterización, subtítulos, etc

La organización/persona que contribuya al proyecto puede presentar y exhibir la película en sus círculos, contando con la disposición del director Fernando Romero-Forsthuber para asistir y participar en el evento (p.ej. de forma online).

Chiapas, im Süden Mexikos, ist bekannt für seine biologische und kulturelle Vielfalt. Aber es ist auch bekannt für Korruption, Gewalt und Straflosigkeit und ist der ärmste und gefährlichste Bundesstaat Mexikos. Dort arbeitet der katholische Priester Padre Marcelo, der sich in den Dienst der Campesinos, der Indigenen, der Armen, der Unterdrückten, der Ausgegrenzten stellt, ihnen zuhört und mit ihnen “geht”. Diese Art, Dinge zu tun, verärgert einige mächtige Leute, die sogar ein Kopfgeld auf Padre Marcelo aussetzen. Er ist jedoch der Meinung, dass es sich lohnt, das Leben für den Frieden, für das Leben des Volkes, zu opfern.”

Im Frühjahr 2022 haben wir Padre Marcelo bei seiner Arbeit in Chiapas begleitet. Das österreichische Fernsehen ORF sendete einen 8-minütigen Bericht in deutscher Sprache. Nun wollen wir eine 25-minütige Version schneiden und veröffentlichen, um das Leben und die Arbeit von Padre Marcelo in der internationalen Gemeinschaft bekannt zu machen. Zu diesem Zweck suchen wir nach Personen und Organisationen, die bereit sind, diese Geschichte zu finanzieren und/oder zu verbreiten.

Das Geld wird in Postproduktion investiert: Schnitt, Textierung, Sounddesign, ColorGrading, Mastering, Untertitel, usw

Am Projekt beteiligte Organisationen und Personen können den Film in ihren Kreisen präsentieren und vorführen, wobei der Regisseur Fernando Romero-Forsthuber anwesend sein und an der Veranstaltung teilnehmen kann (z. B. online).

Chiapas, in southern Mexico, is known for its biological and cultural diversity. But it is also famous for corruption, violence and impunity, being the poorest and most dangerous state in Mexico. It is there that Catholic priest Padre Marcelo works, putting himself at the service of the peasants, the indigenous, the poor, the oppressed, the marginalized, listening to them and “walking” with them. This path annoys some powerful people, even putting a price on Padre Marcelo's head. However, he believes that, for the peace of the people, it is worth giving his life.

In spring 2022 we accompanied Padre Marcelo in his work in Chiapas. Austrian TV ORF broadcasted an 8 minute report in English. Now we want to edit a 25 minutes version to make the life and work of Padre Marcelo known to the international community. For this purpose we are looking for people and organizations that want to finance and/or spread this story.

Funding will be used for postproduction: editing, texting, sound design, color grading, mastering, subtitles, etc

Organizations and persons contributing to the project can present and screen the film in their networks, counting on the willingness of director Fernando Romero-Forsthuber to attend and participate in the event (e.g. online).
