Paige Crockett battle with pulmonary hypertension

On March 13th 2024 Paige was rushed to the ER by her sister in law for symptoms of respiratory distress. During her stay at Tidal Health it was discovered that Paige was suffering from Pulmonary Hypertension and a collapsed lung. She was referred to Inova Alexandra Hospital in Alexandra, Va where on Tuesday, March 19th she underwent a right and left heart catheterization. They determined after the cath that her heart has suffered much damage. Paige currently in the ICU so medical staff can monitor her while her body adjusts to her heart medications. Currently there is a picc line in place to deliver meds. Once they determine the right medication for her, a pump will be replacing the picc line and she’ll be able to come home to Tangier, VA to stay with her mom and step-father.
For those of you not familiar with Paige and her family’s history: Paige was born with two small holes in her heart which were corrected when she was 9 months old. In addition to Paige’s cardiac history, her father Clint, also suffered from Pulmonary Hypertension and passed away in 2006 at the age of 40, Paige was 7. You can imagine how hard this diagnosis is to hear for everyone who loves and cares for Paige.
Paige is still currently in Inova and fortunately her mom, Anita, is able to stay in ICU. However, Paige & her mom are 4 hours from home and two hours away from her closest family member. Upon Paige’s discharge from Inova, there will be numerous appointments to attend and much travel from Tangier Island.
Every Donation, big or small, will go directly towards easing these stressful days, allowing Paige’s family to be able to be there 100% for her day and night.
