I was laid off unexpectedly in February 2024 and have been trying my very best to live off unemployment, but unfortunately, I’ve gotten to a point of mild panic about the debt that has accumulated while I’ve been addressing day to day expenses.
The goal I’ve set covers:
- a necessary, time-sensitive car repair that is keeping me from interviewing and/or accepting jobs and/or gigs that are too far away, limiting my options to address my financial concerns on my own,
- car repair loans I have taken out to get the more affordable fixes on my vehicle taken care of,
- overdue utility bills and
- outstanding medical bills.
This does not erase all debt and financial stress (not even close honestly) but my sincere hope is that if the above issues are addressed, it will help me to set aside the constant weight of things not taken care of and move forward in life more efficiently.
I know that the world right now makes negative sense re: cost of living and therefore quality of life, and there are much more pressing matters to send the rare spare dollar or two towards. This is the primary reason I have not pulled the trigger on starting a GoFundMe until now.
So, to mitigate the icky feeling I have putting this out there, I will be donating 10% of anything over the goal amount to Operation Olive Branch .
