Paige LaMere’s mission trip fundraiser - Uganda
Donation protected
Hi all my name is Paige and as some of you may remember 7 years ago I traveled to Mbirizi, Uganda with a team from my nursing school. This year I’m heading back to the same destination in November for 10 days along with my friend Gina, whom I also traveled with the first time around. I’m excited to be going back with more experience and more equipment to help assess and treat those in the community. Our primary goal is to provide school assessments/physicals to those who attend the school and open up the clinic to the community for those who need to be seen for all different symptoms and concerns. Last time, we were able to provide shots for yellow fever, diagnose and treat malaria, and help with symptom management.
Within the school, there is over 200 orphans who reside there which most of these children unfortunately have lost their parents to AIDS. While we are there, the school hosts a Christmas party where we hand out shirts to the boys and dresses to the girls, along with other goodies.
My goal is to raise money to help stock up on medical supplies, medications, and other equipment to help us effectively treat those in need. I’m also excited to be traveling with a doctor this time around in hopes to do more for the community. The money we raise will also help provide more chickens for the school and help build more natural sources for the children who live at the school (orphans).
Thank you for reading and for any donations. This trip means a lot to me and I’m so grateful I have the opportunity to be going back.
Other donations that would be helpful is any medical supplies (gloves, masks, etc.) stickers, crayons, suckers. Thanks again!
