Paige's Path to Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, our names are Hannah and Trevor and we are raising money for our friend Paige Mabry.
So many of us know Paige Mabry to be a fun-loving, energetic, generous, and beautiful person to be around. She has always led an active lifestyle spending almost every weekend outside gardening, hiking, or just enjoying the sunshine. She loves dancing, bike riding, and yoga. She’s an avid volunteer and finds joy in helping others through a few organizations such as the Austin Street Shelter, SPCA, Dumb Friends League, Ronald McDonald house, and participating in walk for Cystic Fibrosis and Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer. She’s also spent some time volunteering with kids suffering from Cerebral Palsy and MS. However what many of you don’t know is that Paige has been battling for her health for the past decade. She has quietly put her head down spending thousands of dollars going through multiple rounds of testing, imaging, lab work, and unsuccessful treatments plans. Paige is unable to do many of the activities she used to love and enjoy and now she desperately needs your help and support.
Unfortunately, since a young age, Paige has struggled with a multitude of diseases, and in 2020 news of her health also came new diagnosis and treatment options which became very heartbreaking and even more challenging then we were prepared for.
After meeting with more than 60 different doctors, and undergoing 3 surgeries in addition to just about every treatment available to her, Paige's road to recovery has not only been arduous, but extremely expensive as well. After already spending $150k on out-of-pocket doctor visits and over 30 different medications and supplements in the past 12 years. One recent round of extensive lab testing cost her $7.8k alone out of pocket, not including the recent specialist visit that totaled up to $10k for a 7 hour long visit. This will unfortunately be the path once again for Paige of trial and error, but finally with the correct doctors who treat these rare and challenging diseases.
In addition to the previous painful diagnosis, Paige recently learned that she was also suffering from additional diseases that she didn't previously know about. In the past couple of months, Paige has been diagnosed with: POTS, MCAS, EDS, dysautonomia, small fiber neuropathy, and early-onset CVI. Due to the combination of these diseases, Paige's motor skills and ability to move, walk, talk and function properly has begun to break down. She is often too tired to talk and on the rare occasion she has the energy to get out of bed, she now finds herself using a cane to help her move around.
Due to the severity of her diseases and the dreadful symptoms that accompany them, Paige has lost jobs, been bedridden, and had to hire a stay-at-home nurse to monitor her fluids.
Her medical bills only continue to mount and she needs our ongoing support. If you feel you are able to contribute at all to the costs of her medical care we would be greatly appreciated.
