Paint St. Marys Church, Clontibret

Our local St. Marys Chapel in Clontibret has been at the heart of our community for many years. Built by our ancestors just after the famine (when people’s financial circumstances were very poor) it has served us well for baptisms, communions, confirmations, marriages, and funerals. However, in the last couple of years, it has become very run down, and many of the higher walls in the Chapel are now covered in mould.
A group of locals met recently to discuss with the Parish Priest what we can do to redecorate St Marys and leave it in good condition for future generations. This will entail a significant financial outlay. They are asking people in the community and indeed people from anywhere in the world who have a connection with St. Marys, Clontibret for help.
This would be a wonderful opportunity for people to honour a family members memory by helping to finance this project. Any donation big or small will be very welcome.
