Pakistan’s recent floods have submerged over a third of the country under water, affecting over 30 million people, destroying over one million homes, and leaving over 1,200 dead, including hundreds of children. The health of the people and economy is at severe risk.
According to Pakistani officials, the rebuild will cost over 10B USD. — This is compounded with already worsening economic conditions, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and high inflation, with food particularly being hard hit.— A key contributing factor is climate change and Pakistan contributes less than one percent to carbon emissions. We MUST help in this dire time of need.
A group of us / women have decided to sponsor a fundraiser for The Citizens Foundation’s (TCF) Flood Relief. TCF has had a focus on underprivileged children in the urban slums and poor rural area of Pakistan.— We are starting a conversation with TCF to support innovations with these funds …
