Pakistan: Urdu Translation - Milk for Little Ones

The Plea (From Pakistan)
Broken Wharfe is working with a local church and devoted indigenous missionary on the front lines of challenging missions in Pakistan. Converted to Christ several years ago, he came to reformed Baptist convictions. A deep conviction drives this missionary to see healthy churches planted and thriving in the faith. However, the context of their mission is challenging, making safety a paramount concern.
In September 2023, this missionary reached out to Broken Wharfe with a heartfelt plea for assistance translating reformed Baptist books into Urdu. Their vision was clear - distributing these books throughout Pakistan, touching the lives of churches, ministers, church members, university students and schools.
The Response (From Broken Wharfe)
Broken Wharfe, recognising the significance of this endeavour, quickly responded. Together, their first project, Christian Basics, resulted in the printing of 10,000 copies and is currently being distributed, making its way into various corners of Pakistan. Notably, the impact has reached local schools, where the book has been incorporated into the school's curriculum, influencing a younger generation with the basics of confessional Baptist principles.
While continuing this challenging work, the missionary has now translated Milk for Little Ones, envisioning its distribution throughout Pakistan, paralleling that of Christian Basics. Upon the successful production of this book, the plan also includes integrating this book into school curricula throughout Pakistan, targeting the education of much younger students.
The Boundaries (Of Christian Publishing)
Realising our boundaries as a resource provider and the priority of local churches, Broken Wharfe connected the church and missionary with a confessional Baptist church in the West. This connection is not just about translation projects; it's a potential foundation for future collaborations in missions, church planting, theological training, and more.
The Need (For Good Resources)
For the Milk for Little Ones Urdu Translation Project to become a reality, we seek to raise £4,000. These funds will directly contribute to producing 10,000 copies of the translated book, with every penny dedicated to printing costs. Additionally, any surplus funds will aid the missionary in covering travel expenses incurred during book distribution.
Their responsibilities extend beyond translation and distribution; they are deeply involved in pastoring, preaching, leading, teaching in local schools, training in seminaries, building up churches, and ministering the Gospel to those in dire need in Pakistan. Your support will not only help bring Milk for Little Ones to the people of Pakistan but also help relieve some of the practical burden for this missionary to continue their vital work.
As we embark on this journey, we ask for your prayers for the success of this campaign, the missionary's safety, and the lasting impact these translated books can have on communities in Pakistan.
