SkatePal Volenteering in Palestine

September 15, I will be embarking on a two month journey to Palestine for the first time to volunteer with Skate Pal
My Background:
My name is Diana Musa. I am a Palestinian filmmaker in Cleveland OH. My Palestinian roots lie deep in the grounds of a village called Lifta & Kufr 3an outside Yaffa. Both villages is occupied by the Isreali territory. As I am Palestinian, this will be my first time going to Palestine. I studied and graduated from the Art Institute with a BA in filmmaking and video production. Donating will me the world to me, this is a project I feel very strong about. SkatePal is a non-profit organization that works with communities throughout Palestine to enhance the lives of young people and promote the benefits of skateboarding.
Since 2013, our ongoing presence and award-winning projects have reached hundreds of young people across the West Bank and won acclaim and recognition from supporters around the world.
We are run by a committed team of local and international volunteers who, through teaching skate classes, building skateparks and providing equipment, are enabling an ever-growing number of Palestinian skaters to empower themselves and inspire the next generation of Palestinian youth.

What I will be doing:
I will be teaching the youth about skateboarding, filmmaking and photography. I will be documenting the entire volunteer experience, showing Palestine and experiences of Palestine/living there. Bringing kids the joy and love of skateboarding and photography and film would be the greatest gift I can give to the youth and I look forward to going on this journey Inshallah.
What the money costs will be going toward:
plane cost
Living costs
Donation cost
collecting equipment for the kids
video equipment
side project volenteer work costs
Transportation costs
Heath/travel Insurance costs
Other ways to help:
Donate boards / Complete boards / board parts such as hardware, grip, and trucks
New Skate clothing for boys and girls from any company you support.
-Please let me know if you are interested in donating clothing or skate equipment for the youth
Extra Money Donated:
Any additional money donated will go to the orginazation, buying snacks and presents for the kids. I am also looking to make care packages for people in Palestine.
