Our Mom’s Housekeeper Needs Help After the Palisades Fire

Our wonderful friend, who wishes to remain anonymous, worked exclusively cleaning homes in Pacific Palisades. We lost our home, but through no fault of her own, she lost every source of income. She’s so much more than a housekeeper to us – she’s a family member who kept our home running while our mom was overwhelmed with a stressful job and taking care of our father’s declining health from dementia. She supported us through his death and gave my mother the ability to focus on grieving and caring for herself.

She is a hardworking single mother who relies on public transportation to get to and from work. This fire is upending so many people, and our friend is a prime example of how widespread this affects everyone in our community.

These funds will not be used to help our family rebuild; they’re to provide us emotional relief from upending a close family friend who we don’t have the means to support while we rebuild. The money you donate will prevent her from also losing her home. It will take her time to find new clients and rebuild her network, and we want to give her a safety net.
