Pam Ramos’s Recovery Fund
Donation protected
Our friend and West Seattle community member Pam Ramos was in a terrible accident involving a flight of basement stairs on September 9. She suffered multiple injuries, the most concerning of which is an injured and swollen cervical spine (C3/4). She had surgery the day of the accident to try to relieve the swelling but she still suffered almost complete loss of movement and is now relearning how to use her body slowly but surely. She is expected to recover enough to live an independent life again but she is embarking on a challenging journey, the final outcome of which is still unknown.
Pamela is an important member of the team at locally beloved Endolyne Joe’s restaurant and she was recently promoted to supervisor. She’s also a very important figure in her 4-year-old niece’s life. Pamela aims to be able to return to a routine of taking her niece out for the day on fun excursions or taking her home for sleepovers. However, life will most likely look different for Pam once she leaves her current rehabilitation program.
For Pam to regain her independence she will need to make changes to her lifestyle and purchase several medical devices not fully covered by her insurance such as a wheel chair, shower bench, walker, and new clothes designed for people with disabilities. Funds will also immediately be used for needed alterations to her brother’s house where she will be staying for the long-term part of her recovery. Alteration needed to be considerations are a ramp for the wheel chair, replacing a clawfoot tub with a walk/roll-in shower, and installing multiple hand rails throughout. We thank you for any monetary help you’re able to donate to Pamela and her family.
