Pam Church - A Year of Cancer Treatment

Donation protected
For some of you, this may come as a surprise. For others, you’ve already heard. For all, 2019 is going to be a battle for my mom, Pam Church.   Nearly 11 years following her breast cancer diagnosis, cancer has raised its ugly head, yet again, this time as bone cancer. Over the past month, Mom has lost the ability to walk unassisted (without canes) which you know she absolutely hates – hiking and golfing are two of my parents’ biggest passions. My parents are still very early in the process so there are a lot of unknowns but one thing they do know: They are committed to kicking cancer’s butt again.  11 years ago, they beat cancer through a mastectomy, dramatic lifestyle changes, and alternative therapies. All of those combined to keep her healthy for the past decade. This time around, they’re going to be doing a combination of traditional cancer treatment along with the alternative treatments she went through previously. Dad (Jack Church) is back in Medford, OR doing television weather and they do have health insurance. But even with insurance, these medical bills are already becoming overwhelming. They’ve never been ones to ever ask for help but this time, they really could use it. Outside of what insurance will pay, Mom is looking at around $3,000 per month out of pocket to continue treatments. These treatments include twice weekly intravenous injections of high dose vitamin C and another mixture along with a few other oral medications.  While some may frown on alternative treatments, my Mom and Dad have seen this work in the past and, along with prayer, they are fully committed to this plan. Both Mom & Dad have a deep faith and know that God can provide healing. The ultimate prayer request is that she is healed and treatment is no longer needed.  Our goal at this time is $36,000 which should be enough to fund her treatments for an entire year. We hope it will take less time but that is in the hands of God. So many of you know and love my Mom and from the bottom of my heart, I say thank you—Thank you for the prayers and financial support you are able to provide. For those of you who know Pam’s mom, Ann Prince: Please do not share this news with her. She has her own health issues and we do not want to burden her system with the stress of this news. Pam stays in touch with her weekly and will be the one to share this information with her if needed.
