Luca needs Help

Many of you have come to know Luca through my endless pictures. In the 4 years we’ve been together he has stolen my heart and has been my greatest companion.

Luca hasn’t been himself for 5 days now. Although he doesn’t seem to react to anything being touched or manipulated, he is unable to stand up for longer than a few mins before his front end begins to tremble and he either falls down or has to lay down. I took him to the vet Monday, he has nothing broken and no noteable injury. All of his symptoms are leaning toward a spine, neck or disk injury. His breed is prone to things like ivdd.

He has gotten an accepted referral to Cornell, however they have quoted a baseline of $700 for the initial exam and X-rays. I have no idea how I am going to cover the costs of this, nor what else he will need.

It’s just me and him, we live here together, i have no kids, and I am living with an active progressive chronic illness since birth.

In the past 7 months I have been in the hospital 6 times Including 2 extended stays at Mt Sinai in NYC. I have had 3 surgeries , and more than a handful of trips to the city for specialty care.

My condition now requires daily 12 hr IV run treatments I am running through a surgical device in my chest in my home every night.

My condition comes with a variety of symptoms and side effects. An greatly impacts my day to day life.

It has been difficult to make ends meet as it is.

Anyone who knows me knows that Luca means everything to me. I can’t bear to see him in this type of condition and pain. He needs help I simply can’t afford right now.

Please help me help him.
