Pamela’s fight against Leukemia(ALL)
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Carnettia and I am creating this page for my sister Pamela Johnson.
On October 13, 2022, after a few weeks of severe back pain, several x-rays and scans later, Pamela was told she had lytic lesions in her lower back and was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. She was hospitalized and started treatment immediately. On October 21, 2022, the biopsy results came back and it was determined that she had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and not Multiple Myeloma. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia is an aggressive cancer of the blood and bone marrow. ALL has a 30-40% adult survival rate at 5 years. Pamela has spent the last 9 months in and out of the hospital. She has undergone 5 cycles of intense chemotherapy with each cycle lasting a month, several chemo injections in the spine, lumbar punctures, painful bone marrow biopsies, blood transfusions and multiple scans and x-rays. Fighting this horrific disease hasn’t been easy. If leukemia wasn’t enough, she is also getting physical therapy for bilateral meniscus tears to both of her knees. It has been a whirlwind of activity, physical restrictions, sleepless nights and a roller coaster ride of emotions.
Pamela is 53 years old. She is a single, hardworking mother to a 16 year old daughter who is very active and will be a junior this coming school year. Pamela has been a Registered Nurse for 28 years. Twenty-seven of those years have been at Baptist Hospital. Pamela is devoted to her family, friends and coworkers. Pamela has not been able to work due to the numerous appointments, chemo treatments and follow-up visits. As the expenses pile up, I am asking for any donations to help Pamela during this estimated 2-3 year journey. Every dollar donated will go directly towards covering household and medical expenses, hospital bills, and the ongoing costs associated with her treatment and recovery. We are praying the treatment is successful and she will continue to get stronger and healthier and eventually go into complete remission. We pray that her cancer will be a testimony that she can share with her future patients.
Help us raise awareness about Pamela’s situation by sharing her GoFundMe campaign on your social media platforms, within your networks and with anyone who may be able to provide support. Your kind words and thoughts mean the world to Pamela and Jada. Leave a message on this page to show your support and let them know they are not alone in this fight. They need all the prayers and support they can get. We are infinitely grateful for everyone’s support and good wishes.
