Pam's help to heal...

As many of you are aware, our gorgeous friend Pam’s life was turned upside down at the end of 2022 when she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. In spite of being dealt with the most enormous shock, Pam has done what she always has done – found a way to proactively live her life the maximum and take on this battle with everything she has. There are a number of examples of this including her taking on Quest in Killarney (what a woman!) and also the hugely impactful fundraising campaign she organised for the Oncology Unit in CUH in March 2023. The money raised is enabling space for healing and calming escapes while people have to stay in hospital – that includes the family room, teenage and young adult room and the sensory walkway.

Pam’s approach to her treatment is grounded in research and incorporates a holistic method. While being supported and treated through the Oncology Unit in Cork University Hospital, she also knows that there are additional approaches she can undertake to support that treatment. This includes being extremely mindful about what she eats, how food can also be a source of medicine and incorporating and focusing on organic foods. It also includes taking supplements that are proven to support people’s treatment of cancer, exercising to build her strength, travelling regularly to use a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, and so much more.

It goes without saying that this all comes with a significant financial cost, on top of dealing and managing her diagnosis. Pam is not in a position to work right now, and we know that so many have all had the same thought – if there is only something we could do to help her? We know people want to come together to help, and we want to try and ease the financial burden that this requires. This is a way to help Pam heal, to fight this cancer, to show that a through a holistic approach to her treatment she can live her life in the best way possible.

So we have created this Go Fund Me page to do just that, to help Pam heal, to support her as she takes this cancer on in the most inspiring and brave way.
