PAMSY: Please Adopt My Senior Year

Hi! This is Kristen (Senora Pamela Hunt's sister)! You are receiving this link as a celebration on today Pam's 53rd birthday! As many of you know Pam was a Spanish teacher at Hylton High School up until the time of her passing in 2017. She loved her work and students as a Spanish teacher and embraced the spirit of Hylton High! When Pam passed away in 2017 her oldest son was a Junior in High School which meant instantly I became the auntie mom in charge and began preparing for Joshua's Senior year and all the events, momentos and traditions that come along with celebrating this special time. I was AMAZED at the costs associated with the senior year of high school. Yearbooks (90.00), Cap and Gowns (40.00), Prom Tickets (75.00) and on and on! Although we as a family were blessed to be able to afford these things I began to wonder how other students who were not as fortunate were able to afford these special items and worried that some students didn’t get a chance to have a true senior year experience. Over the past 5 years, we have purchased a yearbook for a student at Hylton High in honor of Pam, this year we would like to purchase 5 yearbooks for 5 seniors at Hylton High. Our long-term goal is to establish a nonprofit in honor of Pam called PAMSY (Please adopt my senior year) to provide funds for high school seniors who may not have the funds otherwise. We are starting small with Hylton High School but our prayer is to one day make PAMSY a nationwide serving organization. As a retired educator, I know firsthand how the elementary level kiddos are provided for through backpack donations and school supply drives.....PAMSY would serve those Seniors in High School who have an abundance of expenses and not funds. Our thought is that every student deserves a senior year...please take a moment and consider donating to this inaugural PAMSY fundraiser!
