Pandemic Relief for Shipibo Families
Donation protected
We are raising funds for the Ramirez/Fachin family in San Francisco, Yarinacocha, Peru. Although The Shipibo-Konibo tribe has been hit hard by this pandemic we have not found a credible source for donating that will necessarily reach all Shipibo families. Therefore we have created this campaign for friends of the Ramirez Fachin families at Ronin Sina. I have seen that this is the path others have taken with families they are close to as well.
Maestro Sina Ramirez Rios (67) and his wife Rosa (64) are both currently ill. Their youngest son Gilmer is very ill. They suspect it is with the virus that has caused the pandemic but they cannot be sure due to lack of testing in the Pucallpa region.
We plan to periodically disperse funds in an ongoing effort to relieve some of the effects of this pandemic and to help them to purchase necessary items for survival. Their livelihoods are completely upended at this time as they have no work to offer foreigners, no plants are allowed to be shipped to other countries and there are no tourists to sell their artwork to.
If you have been touched by their work directly or indirectly (through their students) please consider supporting them. They are getting absolutely no financial support from their government.
I will add more information as it becomes available to me.
