Papa Bob and Mama Tashe

Hello! My name is Shana and my siblings and I are fundraising for my mom and dad. Most of you reading this know our dad as "Papa". Papa was recently diagnosed with locally advanced Stage 4 throat cancer involving the lymph nodes. Because of the lymph node involvement, Papa is not a candidate for surgery to remove the cancer. Instead, Papa is currently going through extensive chemotherapy and radiation 5 days/week for an initial 7 weeks. He had to get a chest port placed for the chemo and is now being fed through a feeding tube because of how hard the radiation has been on his throat.

My siblings and I have decided to do a GoFundMe because my parents will never ask for help. They have both worked their entire lives, never asking for help from anyone. They have always worked so hard to provide for my siblings and me, and now it is our turn to try and provide for them. Unfortunately, the medical bills and the cost of living these days are a bit more than we can handle.

Papa is no longer able to work, and although my mom is physically capable, she has hardly been able to because of how busy she is helping take care of Papa. His appointments are 5 days/week and as much as he tries to take himself and do things independently the pain has made it almost impossible.

For those of you who know Papa, you know he is tough as nails. He has always been such a hard worker and a tough and rough guy all around. He never needs help from anyone, but will always be the first to offer help to a stranger. He'll give you the shirt off his back if it's the only thing he's got left to give. So now it's our turn to give back to Papa.

Anything you can donate is appreciated. The funds will be used to help pay for medical bills that insurance won't cover completely. It will be used to help pay for monthly bills and groceries so that my mom can focus on taking care of Papa. And it will be used to help with alternative therapies to help ease Papa's pain from the chemo and radiation.
