Letter from the owner of Pita Majita
"Hi , I am Nathalie, Pita Majita was our restaurant, my whole family worked there, dad, mom, my four brothers, two cousins, and our six kitchen and table helpers who were also considered as part of the family.
We were a place where we supported different artistic groups in the city and other cities to start their careers, we sponsored festivals such as Calicomix and Grafiteria with food, and in the last years, we had the opportunity to donate to the NGO Doctors Without Borders for their projects in Colombia with the neediest people.
We managed to position ourselves as one of the most well-known and loved restaurants by locals and foreigners, Tripadvisor gave us an award for excellence in 2017 and 2019 and the tourism magazine Petit Futé recommended us in its edition in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
Due to COVID we had to close and now to pay the debts we are going to sell everything we have, due to pressure from the owner of the house we rented and from other suppliers. Selling everything will end our dream of opening it again.
If we manage to raise the money in gofundme to pay the tenants and the other debts, we will be able to keep our things and reopen our doors very soon.
Your collaboration, even if small, would save all my family and the families who worked with us and who would be unemployed, young people who were studying and helped each themselves with our work as waiters and all those who sold us the products of the restaurant in this great chain involving the restaurant business.
We thank all donors from the bottom of our hearts for your help and when we reopened our restaurant we will put up a large frame with your names to remember your goodness forever and also we will invite you to a very special dinner when you are in the city.

I am Dimitri, I am from Paris France, I lived in Cali for more than 4 years and my love for this restaurant and this beautiful family made me visit them almost daily. Now, with the covid-19 and the lock down since March without any help by the authorities, they are going through a very difficult time so I want to help them, like that when I return to Cali, I will visit their restaurant with such human warmth and always at the service of others. Donations will be sent to Nathalie Aguilar (the owner) in Cali Colombia through my bank account. The donations will be used to pay debts so that they do not have to sell the things in their restaurant to pay them and thus maintain the dream of opening when their government allows it.

"Hola soy Nathalie, Pita Majita era nuestro restaurante, toda mi familia trabajaba allí, papá, mamá , mis 4 hermanos, 2 primos y nuestros 6 ayudantes de cocina y mesas que también eran considerados como parte de la familia.
Eramos un lugar donde apoyábamos a diferentes grupos artísticos de la ciudad y de otros lugares a empezar sus trayectorias, les dábamos patrocinio en comida a festivales como Calicomix y la Grafiteria, y en los últimos años tuvimos la oportunidad de donar a la ONG Medicos Sin Fronteras para sus proyectos en Colombia con la gente mas necesitada.
Logramos posicionarnos como uno de los restaurantes más conocidos y queridos por locales y extranjeros, Tripadvisor nos dio premio a la excelencia en 2017 y 2019 y la revista de turismo
Petit Futé nos recomendó en su edición en 2018, 2019 y 2020.
Debido al Covid debimos cerrar y ahora para pagar las deudas vamos a vender todo lo que tenemos debido a la presión del dueño de la casa que alquilábamos y de otros proveedores, lo cual va a acabar con nuestro sueño de abrirlo nuevamente.
Si logramos recaudar el dinero en gofundme para pagar a los arrendatarios y a quienes aún debemos, vamos a poder quedarnos con nuestras cosas y volver a abrir nuestras puertas muy pronto.
Su colaboración así sea pequeña salvaría a toda mi familia y a las familias que trabajaban con nosotros y que quedaron sin empleo, a jóvenes que estaban estudiando y se ayudaban con nuestro trabajo como meseros y a todos los que nos vendían los productos del restaurante en esta gran cadena que implica el negocio de restaurantes.
A todos nuestros donantes les agradecemos de corazón por su ayuda y cuando sea la reapertura de nuestro restaurante colocaremos un gran cuadro con sus nombres para recordar su bondad por siempre y además invitarlos a una cena muy especial cuando están en la ciudad.

Yo soy Dimitri, soy de Paris Francia, viví en Cali por mas de 4 años y mi amor por este restaurante y esta bella familia hicieron que los visitara casi a diario. Ahora, por el covid y el lock down desde marso sin apoyo de las autoridades, están pasando por un momento muy difícil así que quiero ayudarlos para cuando vuelva a Cali poder seguir visitando su restaurante con tanta calidez humana y siempre al servicio de otros. Los donativos serán enviados a Nathalie Aguilar (la dueña) en Cali Colombia por medio de mi cuenta de banco. Los donativos serán usados para poder pagar deudas y que ellos no tengan que vender las cosas de su restaurante para pagarlas y así mantengan el sueño de abrir cuando ya su gobierno lo permita.
